The first refurbished rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas may begin to host guests as early as today.
In October 2025, Disney took group of rooms out of service at Animal Kingdom's Kidani Village to begin the resort's first wholesale hard goods refurbishment. Two months later, that first set of rooms is ready to begin hosting guests.
During this week's condominium association meeting, the Disney Vacation Club board of directors confirmed that the first refurbished rooms were expected to be completed by Friday, December 12, 2025. The newly updated rooms will contain the pull-down, Murphy-style sofabeds. One bedroom and larger villas are expected to eliminate the jacuzzi tubs, a move that has taken place with every full refurbishment in recent years as the jetted tubs are difficult to effectively clean and sanitize between guests.
Other changes are expected to include new flooring, wall coverings, furniture and fixtures. Although no preview images were provided, Disney Vacation Club executives expressed a desire to maintain the unique themeing and feel of the resort.
Refurbishment of all 324 rooms at Kidani Village is expected to last through May 2026. Crews will then move over to Jambo House, updating the remaining DVC villas from May 2026 until January 2027.
