Beginning in mid-August 2026, the lobby of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village will undergo a phased refurbishment with spaces and amenities periodically unavailable to guests.
Beginning back in the Fall of 2025, guest rooms at Kidani Village began the first wholesale hard goods refurbishment in the resort's history. Now work will move to the main lobby and surrounding areas.
On August 17, the main check-in desk and Johari Treasures gift shop will close for refurbishment. Johari Treasures will reopen after a short closure, being down only from August 17-28. The lobby itself will undergo work that is scheduled to run until October 9, 2026. Check-in services will move to The Palace Library during this period.
From September 28 - October 9, the North Side Corridor will be unavailable. This includes access to the North Side Lobby Elevators on the 2nd floor, as well as the outdoor deck and viewing area.
Finally, from October 26 to November 6, the South Side Lobby Corridor will be closed to guests on the 2nd floor. This includes the Community Hall, The Palace Library, arcade, laundry room, lobby restrooms, and the south side outdoor viewing platform.
Guests may see and hear signs of construction around these areas during daytime hours. Reminder that these dates are estimates only and may be adjusted.
Refurbishment is reportedly complete on all guest rooms in Kidani Village. Work is now under way to update the Disney Vacation Club villas at Jambo House with an estimated completion of January 2027.
