Expanded Information / FAQ on New Booking Policies

About two weeks ago Disney Vacation Club altered its procedures such that members can now book trips 11 and 7 months in advance of their arrival date rather than 11/7 months before their departure date.  Aside from a brief statement posted to DCMember.com, few details have been published regarding these changes.  Now we have a bit more clarification from DVC.

Kidani Village Reservation Date Set

The Disney Vacation Club is all set to begin accepting reservations for the Animal Kingdom Villas' Kidani Village facility.  Reservations will be accepted for check-in dates beginning May 1, 2009.  AKV owners may begin calling to book Kidani Village on August 10, 2008 with non-owners following 7 months in advance of their arrival date.

DVC Addresses Booking Concerns

Last Friday the Disney Vacation Club implemented changes to the booking windows that determine when members can begin making their reservations.  Since then many members have expressed confusion or displeasure regarding these changes.  While DVC has not revised the policies on the member website, they have issued a statement which sheds some light on the reasoning behind the change.
