Disney Vacation Club Declares 25 More Vacation Homes for Riviera’s Inventory

Disney's Riviera Resort

It has been just over five months since the most recent addition to Disney Vacation Club inventory at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Given the resort's recent strong sales it’s not surprising that Disney has declared more inventory for DVC members to book using their points.

Disneys Riviera Resort Overview Straight

On October 17, 2024, Disney added 25 vacation homes to the DVC inventory at Disney’s Riviera Resort, increasing the number of declared vacation homes from 269 to 294.  There are still 47 vacation homes that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney.  The new declaration was recorded by the Orange County Comptroller on October 25, 2024.

The 25 newly declared vacation homes are located on the third floor on the west side of the resort, the side nearest Disney's Skyliner.  The new inventory has eight Residential Units containing three Tower Studios, four Dedicated Studios, two Dedicated One-Bedroom villas, seven Lockoff Two-Bedroom villas, eight Dedicated Two-Bedroom villas, and one Three-Bedroom grand villa.

Here is a breakdown of all the vacation homes that have been declared for Riviera:

  • 21 of 24 Tower Studios
  • 34 of 38 Dedicated Studios
  • 26 of 29 Dedicated One-Bedroom Villas
  • 122 of 148 Lockoff Two-Bedroom Villas
  • 79 of 90 Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villas
  • All 12 of the Three-Bedroom grand villas

In terms of points, this latest declaration adds 457,570 DVC points to Riviera’s DVC inventory.  Interestingly, since the last declaration was made on May 7, 2024, Disney sold 440,070 Riviera points in the five-month period of May through September 2024.

The DVC inventory now contains about 5,817,509 points, or 86.3% of the Riviera’s 6,7 million total points.  This means that on any given Use Day DVC members can book about 86.3% of the resort using DVC points.  The undeclared inventory remains under the control of Disney Vacation Development, which can use it for cash reservations, as models to show to prospective buyers, or any other reason it chooses.

This is the tenth declaration for Riviera since sales began in March 2019.  Here is a list of DVC declarations made for Riviera:

  • Initial Declaration 02/15/2019: 69 vacation homes
  • 1st declaration 10/04/2019: 29 vacation homes
  • 2nd declaration 03/16/2020: 24 vacation homes
  • 3rd declaration 01/15/2021: 24 vacation homes
  • 4th declaration 09/29/2021: 21 vacation homes
  • 5th declaration 04/15/2022: 13 vacation homes
  • 6th declaration 09/23/2022: 19 vacation homes
  • 7th declaration 12/16/2022: 25 vacation homes
  • 8th declaration 12/15/2023: 32 vacation homes
  • 9th declaration 05/07/2024: 13 vacation homes
  • 10th declaration 10/17/2024: 25 vacation homes

When Disney created Riviera’s budget for 2024, it based the budget’s expenditures and income on 293 vacation homes.  It is unlikely another declaration will be made before the end of 2024.
