Two restaurants on Disney's BoardWalk originally scheduled to open in 2023 have been pushed to 2024.
Crews continue to make slow progress on The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. Today the space doesn't look all that much different than in August. The original announcement in March 2022 promised a 2023 opening, but that has since been delayed to some unspecified date in 2024.
The restaurant fills the venue formely occupied by ESPN Club which closed in March 2020. The Cake Bake Shop is expected to offer food service along with a variety of elegant desserts.
Across the walkway, Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs is slated to take over the former BoardWalk To Go food shack. The corn dog venue was also expected to open in 2023 but that has since slipped to 2024. Planters currently surround the building, however there are no visible signs of construction progress.
These changes come on the heels of BoardWalk Deli and Carousel Coffee added to the resort within the last 15 months.
Crews are currently refurbishing the interiors of all Disney Vacation Club rooms at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, a project which is expected to run into mid-2024.
