The pool slide at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village will close for maintenance beginning next month.
On September 8, 2025, the Samawati Springs Pool Slide will close for refurbishment. The announcement comes less than 3 weeks prior to the closure, with the slide set to shut down shortly after the Labor Day holiday. All other amenities at Samawati Springs will remain open, including the main pool and the kids water play area. Guests can also use Uzima Springs Pool at neighboring Jambo House.
No end date for the pool slide refurbishment has been announced.
This closure comes just as the resort is about to begin a massive refurbishment project on its Disney Vacation Club villa rooms. Kidani Village accommodations will receive a full, "hard goods" refurbishment which is scheduled to run from October 2025 to May 2026. Work will then commence on rooms in Jambo House with an expected completion of January 2027. During this project, most aspects of the villa interiors are expected to be replaced or refreshed including floor coverings, wall coverings, furniture, decor, and the addition of the pull-down sofa beds.
