Construction on the newest Disney Vacation Club development is moving along at a brisk pace.
Disney has a reputation for taking things slow and steady when building new theme park attractions and resorts. Not so in the case of Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Just six months ago, a single floor of the structure was all that was visible. Now the building has begun to dominate the skyline in the area surrounding Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. The image below depicts Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness with Lakeshore Lodge rising just behind it.
Originally known as Reflections - a Disney Lakeside Lodge, construction on Lakeshore Lodge was halted for nearly 5 years during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has since been revived with a targeted opening in 2027.
Disney Vacation Club recently added the Fort Wilderness Cabins to its timeshare program, a development which will eventually grow to more than 300 units. Due to the limited appeal of the cabins and close proximity to Lakeshore Lodge, many have speculated that the two projects will eventually be combined with owners gaining 11-month booking rights to both the cabins and the lodge. DVC has not commented on its future plans.
The building is expected to rise up to 12 stories tall in places, and include several A-Frame cabins along the shoreline. Prior plans were known to include and elaborate pool complex with a lazy river, similar to the popular Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
Disney recently revealed plans to expand the Meadow Swimmin' Pool at Fort Wilderness to include a second pool, pickleball courts and more.
DVC is currently selling points in three resorts located at Walt Disney World: Fort Wilderness Cabins, Disney's Polyensian Villas & Bungalows and Disney's Riviera Resort. Riviera is expected to reach it's "sold out" threshold sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. That would likely pave the way for the debut of Lakeshore Lodge.
