For years the DVC Public Offering Statement has included vague prohibitions of "commercial" renting of DVC points without truly defining what constitues commercial activity.  It now appears that DVC has taken steps to define commercial point renting, as well as sanctions against members who violate those rules.

Back in early-December, DVC posted the points charts for its non-US theme parks on DVCMember.com.  However, the charts were removed a few days later, leading to speculation as to the reasoning behind the removal.  The charts have now returned, confirming suspicions.

Here's a reminder that throughout month of January members are beginning to make their 11-month reservations for December 2008.  On most mornings DVC Member Services will be very busy, with wait times often reaching or exceeding an hour.  Those needing to contact Member Services regarding issues which are not time-sensitive are encouraged to call in the afternoon. 

Call volumes typically return to normal shortly after February 1st.

The Disney Vacation Club has a referral program which allows some current members to receive rewards for introducing new customers to DVC.  What was once a multi-step paper handling process is now contained largely within the DVC member website.

As announced at the recent Condo Meetings, the operating hours for DVC Member Services have recently changed...and will soon change again.
