For the second consecutive month, sales of Disney Vacation Club points by Disney Vacation Development topped 200,000 points. In February 2012, 217,876 points were sold for the nine DVC resorts for which sales can be tracked. This represents an increase of 3.6% over the previous month and a 28.0% increase over February 2011.

While announcing the new "free points" incentive, Disney Vacation Club revealed that the base price for Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas will increase in April.

Disney Vacation Club has introduced a new incentive unlike anything they have ever presented before: new buyers and existing members adding-on at select resorts will receive free points over the entire life of the contract.  

For a limited time, Disney Vacation Club members can receive discounted pricing plus a $500 Disney Gift Card with an add-on purchase of 100 or more points at select resorts.  

For the nine Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts for which sales can be tracked, Disney Vacation Development (DVD) sold 210,306 points in January 2012, about 0.7% more than the monthly average in 2011. For the sixth consecutive month the top seller remained Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas placed second in total point sales  while Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort came in a distant third.
