The cost to buy points in The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort direct from DVC rose by more than 15% while several other legacy resorts are now subject to more modest increases.
Disney Vacation Club's five actively selling resorts saw overnight price increases of $6-10 per point. But they are not the only ones now going for a higher rate. Six older DVC properties went up between $5-35 per point for buyers looking to purchase direct from Disney. The impacted resorts are as follows:
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins: $5 increase to $255
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas: $5 increase to $215
- Disney's Old Key West Resort: $10 increase to $215
- Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort: $10 increase to $215
- The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel: $20 increase to $330
- The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort: $35 increase to $265
Disney Vacation Club focuses its marketing efforts on its newer properties which tend to have several million points available for purchase. However, a limited supply of points is typically available for older locations. Incentives are typically sparse on the older destinations, but there is currently an offer for both Animal Kingdom Villas and Saratoga Springs which offsets much of the increases listed above.
Points for most resorts are also available via the resale marketplace through brokers like DVCNews sponsor The Timeshare Store. Prices tend to be considerably lower than DVC's direct pricing, however resale purchases may feature some restrictions on the use of points and access to certain DVC perks.
