On September 16, 2008, Disney Vacation Club made two very important announcements.  While the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Villas has garnered most of the attention, thousands of Saratoga Springs owners were thrilled to hear that the Treehouse Villas were being resurrected as part of the resort they already call Home.

Details of the Treehouse Villa project have been a little harder to come by.  Eight months ago we took an early look at the Treehouse Villas before we even knew they were destined to be DVC accommodations.  Now it's time for a second look to summarize what we have learned in recent days.

Nostalgic memories of childhood playtime translate into over-the-treetops family vacation time with the addition of the Treehouse Villas to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Evoking a sense of adventure that makes kids feel more like grownups and grownups feel more like kids, the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will combine a dash of luxury and comfort with the nostalgic memories of a childhood fortress. 

Earlier this summer Disney began offering portrait packages at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort.  Under a limited-time promotion, Disney Vacation Club members can receive free prints with their paid portrait session.

According to Disney's latest refurbishment bulletin, the pool slide at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa will be closed from September 8 - 26, 2008.  The High Rock Spring pool itself will remain open during this period--only the slide will be closed. 

All other pools at Saratoga Springs will also operate normally.

According to sources, the prefabricated Treehouse Villas are set to be delivered to the worksite and installed over the next several weeks. 

Disney has filed more paperwork in conjunction with its rebuild of the Treehouse Villas.  Although there has been no firm indication that this project is linked to Disney's timeshare unit, it is worth noting that the owner of the property is listed as "Disney Vacation Development."
