It appears that Disney is ready to move forward with the overdue refurbishment of the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort.
Website WDWMagic.com reports that Disney has filed a Notice of Commencement for construction work at the Treehouse Villas. The permit cites Land-Ron as the contractor, a firm known for managing luxury hotel refurbishment projects. An expiration date of January 7, 2027 is listed.
Back in December 2024, Disney Vacation Club shared future refurbishment details which suggested a summer 2025 start for the project. The Treehouse Villas opened in the spring of 2009, which already puts them nearly 2 years overdue for the first extensive, hard goods refurishment. Per Disney Vacation Club's timelines, resorts typically receive a light refresh 7 years after opening and a more extensive refurbishment at 14 years.
Crews rebuilt the stairways and decks at each treehouse during the winter of 2024.
The length of this project suggests a phased closure, with a handful of units being taken out of service at a time for renovations. It is not known exactly what updates will be performed. A hard goods refurbishment of this nature typically includes replacement of floor coverings, wall coverings, appliances and furniture. It may even extend to things like kitchen cabinets and bathroom fixtures.
Recent updates have included the pull-down sofa beds in most villa living rooms. Treehouse Villas currenlty feature two queen-size beds in separate bedrooms, twin bunk beds in a third room, and a living room with pull-out sofa bed and convertible twin chair.
