Beginning April 23, 2026 the feature restaurant at the Polynesian's Island Tower may have temporary changes to its operating schedule due to refurbishment.
Roofing work is scheduled to begin today on Wailulu Bar & Grill at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. The work will take place during daytime hours. Disney's standard disclaimer warns that guests may see and hear some disruption during daytime hours.
During the refurbishment, Wailulu will offer carry-out service during lunch hours from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Table service dining then begins at 5:00pm during the refurbishment. Table restrictions are expected during the refurb. The resturant offers both indoor and open air seating. The outdoor areas may be unavailable to guests during certain periods, as dictated by construction needs.
Note that at this time, lunch reservations are still showing available on the Disney Dining website from April 23 onward. It is not entirely clear if this is a website error or represents a change to Disney's operating plans. Many attempts to make a lunch reservation in the coming weeks have yielded an error stating that "the time is no longer available." But some new lunch reservations have seemingly been accepted for Wailulu. We will update this post if other details become available.
Work is scheduled for completion in June. Wailulu Bar & Grill opened back in December 2024 with the debut of Island Tower.
