Our regular looks at construction on the new tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows continues with the monorail side of the buidling.
Similar to The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the new Polynesian tower appears destined to offer both lake view and standard view rooms. The standard view should appeal to both frugal Disney Vacation Club owners and those who are fond of the Walt Disney World Monorail System.
This side of the building will also offer ground level parking for guests, with the large expanses eventually paved over late in the construction process.
The area below will serve as the main entrance to the building. A drive-through Porte Cochere is shown in project plans.
A likely elevator vestibule is visible near the center of the photo below.
The far left section of the building has no balconies on this side. These rooms are likely situated on the end of the building, facing west toward the Grand Floridian and Disney's Wedding Pavilion. Right of center are some inset balconies, perhaps for the smaller two-person Duo Studio rooms.
The new Polynesian tower is expected to open before the end of 2024.
