The exterior of the Great Ceremonial House is in the early stages of a dramatic renovation. Let's examine how construction work has impacted the interior of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
Current state of resort main entrance

View from the bus stops, showing construction barriers at the porte cochere and the former roof beams now completely removed

Signage inside the lobby bars guests from exiting via these doors, while a rendering of the updated building is on display

Cast Members continue to staff the front desk, however it is only available until 10pm daily when the lobby closes

Elsewhere, there has been no change to the look of the Polynesian lobby

The Tiki statue is as prominent as ever

Christmas decor is evident throughout the Great Ceremonial House

And holiday merchandise is available for purchase

Primary "front desk" operations have been moved to this location in the Pago Pago building, which is staffed 24/7
While the Polynesian's Disney Vacation Club villas are currently opened, all hotel rooms are unavailable to guests and scheduled for refurbishment in the coming months. The resort monorail station is also closed. Boat service is available to the Magic Kingdom, along with bus transportation to all four theme parks and Disney Springs. Guests may also walk to the nearby Transportation and Ticket Center for addtional options.
Renovations are expected to last into summer 2021.
