Disney Vacation Club appears to be gearing up for the wholesale refurbishment of Kidani Village

Disneys Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani Studio Overview

Earlier this month, Disney Vacation Club filed "Notices of Commencement" with Orange County for work set to occur at the address of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. The work is described as "General Construction" with no indication of exactly what will take place. However time timeline fits an upcoming refurbishment planned for the facility. Back in December 2023, Disney Vacation Club executives revealed that Animal Kingdom Villas was on the short list of resorts due for guest room refurbishment.

The resort received a lighter "refresh" back in 2016 with modest changes to decor and linens. It is now due for a more substantial full refurbishment. Similar projects recently completed at Disney's Sartoga Springs Resort and Disney's BoardWalk Villas included a near stripping of the room. Updates included new floor coverings and wall coverings, updates to furniture including the pull-down sofa beds, changes to kitchen cabinetry and appliances, new bathroom fixtures and more.

The permit application lists an expiration date of December 31, 2025. It is not known exactly when work will commence. Exterior refurbishment work has been taking place at Kidani Village off-and-on since early 2023. So far there do not seem to be any signs of permits for the Jambo House villas, however they are also due for updates in the coming months.

Similar renovations are currently being performed on Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, a project which is expected to run through September 2025.
