One of the more ingenious Disney Vacation Club cottage industries to come along is Owner's Locker.  Owner's Locker is storage solution which caters primarily to timeshare owners and others who frequently vacation in the Orlando metropolitan area.

Customers are given a 22 x 20 x 13" storage tub in which to permanently store their personal possessions.  The "locker" is personally delivered to the guest's hotel upon arrival and claimed after departure.  This eliminates the need to repeatedly transport the same items to and from one's resort / villa trip-after-trip.

Disney Vacation Club policies allow members to Bank and Borrow points from one Use Year to the next.  Banking is the process of saving points and rolling them forward to the next Use Year, while Borrowing involves using points before their intended Use Year even arrives.

Now that Disney Vacation Club villas have crept into nearly every Deluxe resort at Walt Disney World...and Disneyland for that matter...members have easy access to quite a variety of dining establishments.  Included are signature dining locations like Jiko (Animal Kingdom Villas), California Grill (Contemporary) and Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge.)  On the other end of the spectrum are the more laid-back environs of Beaches and Cream (Beach Club), Olivia's (Old Key West) and Artist's Palette (Saratoga Springs), with dozens of other options in between.

Not really a DVC discussion but still topical for Disney fans...

Earlier this year Disney Vacation Club president Jim Lewis was named to a 2-year term as Chairman of the American Resorts Development Association.  The ARDA is dedicated to protecting the interests of timeshare developers and owners through lobbying efforts and consumer advocacy.

In the Fall 2009 issue of Disney Files magazine, Lewis uses his column to illustrate some of the issues the ARDA has been involved with in recent years, as well as current issues the PAC hopes to tackle in the coming months and years.  Lewis also encourages members to show their support by making a donation to the ARDA Resort Owners Coalition.
