Whether a Disney Vacation Club trip lasts two days or two months, members have the flexibility to spread their stay over multiple resorts, multiple villas sizes or even multiple room classes (views.) Disney will even assist with the split stay by transporting luggage from one resort to another.
A split stay can add a bit of variety to the trip, save a few points or simply allow a short-notice trip to occur if availability does not exist at a single resort.
In 2010 Disney is promoting the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" program in which guests can earn a free day's admission to a Disney theme park in exchange for completing a volunteer assignment. The complimentary pass can be used on its own or the value can be applied to a multi-day pass purchase.
Deevy See, the so-called First Lady of the Disney Vacation Club, has served as a sort of club mascot for the last several years. She has appeared in promotional videos, at special events and she hosts the Welcome Home Wednesday meetings held weekly at the Atlantic Dance Hall.
Disney Vacation Club members typically use 3-character shorthand abbreviations when referring to specific resorts. For instance SSR = Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and VGC = Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.
Another year...another series of changes to the point charts. In general weekday costs were again increased with weekends becoming cheaper still.
Some members will benefit from the changes, finding that their points go further than ever. Others will find that established vacation patterns now require more points than in prior years.
For those on the losing end, ways of coping include borrowing points, reducing trip durations, taking less frequent trips, booking a smaller villa size, visiting during cheaper seasons, booking a cheaper view or even adding more points.
