In an article entitled "No such thing as recession In Disneyland? ", Fortune Magazine (via CNN/Money.com) looks at steps taken to protect The Walt Disney Company from recent economic woes that have plagued other organizations.  Disney Vacation Club is again cited as one factor that will keep dollars flowing into the theme parks even if other segments of the tourism industry begin to suffer.

Martha "Marty" Roper, a Cast Member working in the Disney Vacation Club sales department, passed away last Friday at age 64.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her friends, family and Disney coworkers. 

West-coast Disney Vacation Club members have begun receiving postcards advising them of the members-only event scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 2008.  On May 24-26, DVC will be hosting a "Getaway Days Travel Expo" at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Trade magazine Vacation Ownership World has listed DVC as the seventh leading timeshare sales company in 2007.  According to the survey, DVC grossed approximately $350 million last year while Wyndham Vacation ownership topped the list with nearly $2 billion in sales.
