Early Saturday morning Disney Vacation Club held a small ceremony for community leaders and members of the press to help celebrate the opening of its new Doorway to Dreams sales center. A continental breakfast was served followed by some brief comments from Dawn, President of Doorway to Dreams, East Coast and then DVC President Jim Lewis.

Just inside the entry to DVC's sales center is a lobby with quite a variety of multimedia features. Included are several video displays which loop the latest promotional video, display Disney trivia questions and even display information regarding the Disney Parks. One section replicates the famous door from Alice in Wonderland. The door is only big enough for children to enter. Inside is a small room with a picture of the White Rabbit.

Doorway to Dreams features a replica Two Bedroom lockoff villa (Studio + One Bedroom) from the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The model room is identical to the actual villas and really gives customers a sense of the type of villa experience they can expect from Disney Vacation Club. Homesick DVC members in the Long Island area will even appreciate getting their Disney "fix" about 1000 miles away from where they would expect to find it.

Disney Vacation Club also hosted a full day of public events to celebrate the sales center's opening. Near the mall's Disney Store, Disney characters were on-hand for photo opportunities. The character greeting opportunities proved to be quite popular and long lines were present throughout the day. Photopass photographers were even on hand to capture memories for attendees.
