After having a very good sales month in March, it is not surprising that direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points slipped in April 2011. A total of 238,268 points were sold directly by Disney Vacation Development (DVD), a drop of about 9.3% compared to the previous month. Despite the slight drop sales, April 2011 was the second best month for sales since at least July 2010.
Disney Vacation Club has unveiled a new slate of "experiences" being offered as sales incentives. Direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points improved significantly in March 2011 compared to the previous month.
In March Disney Vacation Club raised the price of points for the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort from $130 to $140 each. However, buyers can still get the $130 price for another couple of months.
Historically Disney Vacation Club has not imposed closing costs or other fees for existing members looking to purchase additional points. However that policy has recently changed.
