Disney Vacation Club unveiled a new slate of purchase incentives today. Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, the complimentary Disney Cruise Line voyages remain available. Or buyers can opt for additional cash discounts which take net prices as low as $91 per point.
There are several options available under the current discount programs. The basic discount offered for new member purchases (without a referral from an existing member) are as follows:
Animal Kingdom Villas: $10 off per point
Saratoga Springs / Treehouse Villas: $13 off per point
On top of that, there are two incentive packages being offered to existing members and new members who have a referral from an existing member. The first incentive is the complimentary Disney Cruise Line voyage. The length of the voyage depends upon the number of points purchased / added.
New Member Free Cruise
160 - 199 Points = 3-night cruise
200-269 Points = 4-night cruise
270+ points = 7-night cruise
Existing Member Free Cruise
100 - 124 Points = 3-night cruise
125 - 199 Points = 4-night cruise
200+ points = 7-night cruise
The cruise is for up to 4 guests in an ocean-view stateroom. Included are all sailing fees, port fees and Cast Member gratuities. Additional guests and cabin upgrades can be added for a fee. Generally speaking dates range from Septmber 2009 to February 2010 and September 2010 to December 2010.
The second incentive available to existing members and new members with a referral from an existing member is an additional cash discount. This cash discount is in lieu of the free DCL cruise--the two cannot be combined. The added discounts are as follows:
New Member Additional Discount
160 - 199 points = extra $6 off per point
200+ points = extra $8 off per point
Existing Member Additional Discount
100 - 124 points = extra $6 off per point
125+ points = extra $8 off per point
To illustrate, a new member with a referral could buy 200 points at the Animal Kingdom Villas for either a price of $102 per point ($112 less $10) with a free 4-night DCL voyage OR at a price of $94 per point ($112 less $10 less $8.)
Again, the DCL incentive and the added cash discount cannot be combined. The free DCL trip and the extra cash incentives are available ONLY to existing Disney Vacation Club members and new buyers who are referred by an existing DVC member.
