Sales for Disney Vacation Club’s newest property increased over last month but almost all other DVC resorts saw a decline in their number of points sold in November 2024.
Island Tower helps Polynesian rise to top spot in sales report
In November 2024, 193,068 Disney Vacation Club points were sold for the 12 DVC resorts located at World Disney World and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. It was the third best monthly total this year, but represents a drop of 12.8% compared to sales in October 2024.
Sales for Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows increased by 22.1% month over month, but it was not enough to offset decreases in sales for Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Animal Kingdom and Saratoga Springs combined to sell over 36,000 points in October but sold 22,245 fewer points in November.
No points were sold for Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. November marks the sixth consecutive month that no deeds were recorded for the Grand Floridian.
Several large deeds were sold in November. Disneyland Hotel and Riviera each had a 1,000-point deed sold in the month. Disneyland Hotel also had two 700-point deeds, while the Polynesian had one 700-point deed. The largest multiple deed purchases were 600 points split evenly between two deeds for the Polynesian and 510 points split 375/135 for Riviera.
Disney’s Riviera Resort — In November, 62,801 points were sold for Riviera, the fewest number of points since 61,150 points were sold in December 2023. Riviera’s point total was second to the Polynesian, the first time since October 2023 that it was not number one in resort sales.
Disney has sold 4,913,130 Riviera points, about 72.9% of the resort’s 6,739,966 total points. It has averaged 73,265 points in monthly sales, which includes several months in 2020 when DVC sales were markedly depressed by the COVID-19 pandemic. If future Riviera sales maintain that pace, it will be less than 24 months before the resort is completely sold out.
Three Fixed Week deeds were sold for Riviera in November. Two of the deeds were Standard View Deluxe Studios for week 7 and week 49 and the third was for a Standard View Two-Bedroom for week 49. Disney has sold 138 Fixed Week deeds for the resort.
On October 17, 2024, Disney added 25 vacation homes to the DVC inventory at Riviera Resort, increasing the number of declared vacation homes from 269 to 294. There are still 47 vacation homes that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney. The DVC inventory now accounts for 5,817,509 points, or 86.3% of the Riviera’s 6,7 million total points.
Villas at Disneyland Hotel — In November, approximately 18,010 points were sold for Disneyland Hotel. Disney has now sold 819,264 points, about 25.1% of the resort’s estimated 3,255,992 total points.
It is difficult to estimate when the Disneyland Hotel may sell out. The resort is averaging 43,119 points in monthly sales, which would suggest it will take about 55 months before the resort is completely sold out. But over the last 12 months Disneyland Hotel has averaged only 23,443 points a month, which suggests it would take about 101 months before it is sold out.
The number of points sold for the Disneyland Hotel can only be estimated. The data available from the Orange County (California) Clerk-Recorder’s Office is limited and the exact number of points sold cannot be compiled directly; instead, the number of points can only be estimated based on the Transfer Tax paid on each deed.
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort — In November, 3,325 points were sold for the Fort Wilderness cabins, the fewest number of points since sales began in February 2024. Disney has now sold 60,642 points for The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, which is about 2.2% of the resort’s estimated 2,780,943 total points.
No Fixed Week deeds were sold for the Cabins in November. The Cabins have sold 12 Fixed Week deeds, six of which are for week #43 which starts on October 27 in calendar year 2024.
Disney has declared 63 cabins for the DVC inventory. DVC members will be able to book using points up to 63 cabins on any given Use Day. There are still another 300 cabins that have not yet been declared. Disney will be able to use these 300 cabins for cash rentals or any other purpose it desires.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows — In November, the Polynesian led all DVC resorts in sales with 89,746 points. The last time the Polynesian was number one in resort sales was December 2017.
The Polynesian has now sold 163,073 of the 666,819 points (24.5%) allotted to the 40 vacation homes declared at the new Island Tower. There are 182 vacation homes at Island Tower that have not yet been declared for the DVC inventory.
Six Fixed Week deeds were sold for accommodations at Island Tower Three were for Standard View Deluxe Studios for weeks 37, 43, and 49; two were for Theme Park View Deluxe Studios for weeks 44 and 49; and one was for a Standard View One-Bedroom for week 12. The total number of Island Tower Fixed Week deeds sold so far is up to 14.
The sales data includes all 12 DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Point sales data is not available for The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds. Thanks to Chris for assisting in the compilation of the sales data.
