Dry conditions in the Central Florida area have prompted Walt Disney World to temporarily restrict grilling at many Disney Vacation Club resorts.
BBQ Pavilion at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Effective April 2023, outdoor grilling with charcoal or wood is prohibited at Walt Disney World resorts. This includes all grills at the following DVC destinations:
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village
- Disney's Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
- Disney's Beach Club Villas
- Disney's Boardwalk Villas
- Disney's Old Key West Resort
- Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Treehouse Villas
- Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Charcoal grills located in public spaces at each of these resorts--along with the 60 Treehouse Villas--should not be used at the present time. Also prohibited are most solid fuel grills and consumer grade fireworks including sparklers. Guests staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground should be aware of the current restrictions.
Gas grills at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are OK to use
Gas grills remain available for guest use on a first-come, first-served basis. They are typically found at newer DVC developments including Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Campfires and fire pit activities supervised by Disney Cast Members are expected to continue. Fireworks presentations and other in-park activities are not impacted at this time.
