About a month ago we posted a look at how the Disney Vacation Club had apparently made substantial reductions in the dining discounts available to members. While the number of discounted locations is not quite as extensive as it was just a year ago, the situation appears to be a little better than was initially feared.
Our original piece compared a Portable Perks guidebook from February 2007 with the discount information posted to DVCMember.com. A dramatic reduction in discounts was evident--in resort restaurants alone members had gone from receiving discounts at over a dozen locations one year ago to just two locations according to the website.
Well, it appears that we can partially write this off as another disconnect at the DVCMember website.
Additional discounts in all dining categories are cited in the current Portable Perks (dated February to April 2008) , and these discounts have been added to DVCMember.com sometime following our February 22nd report. Below is a summary of all dining discounts currently offered to DVC members:
