This month’s Vacation Magic email update included an invitation for DVC members to participate in a new series of themed golf events at WDW golf courses. “Putters of the Caribbean” and “Around the World in 18 Holes” add Disney theming to a round of golf at one of Disney’s courses.
DVC Members are invited to participate in several unique behind-the-scenes tours this spring. The Innovation in Action tour is a look at Walt Disney’s early career, discussing ways in which Walt earned his reputation as an innovator. The tour takes guests to many backstage areas to show how Walt Disney World continues to innovate. Areas visited during this 3-hour tour include the Nursery and Tree Farm, Textile Services and Central Shops where local carpenters and craftsmen work to enhance and maintain Walt Disney World.
OK, it probably is a bit early to start thinking about more members cruises. After all, the two new ocean liners announced this week by Bob Iger won’t even set sail until 2011 and 2012.
DVCMember.com has posted details on a new contest tie-in with the Year of a Million Dreams which is exclusive to DVC members. In the “Capture the Moment, Live the Fantasy Sweepstakes”, members are eligible to win a night’s stay in the Cinderella Castle suite, along with 4 additional nights in a two bedroom at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, airfare, park hopper tickets, the Disney Dining Plan and some spending money.
Disney Cruise Line will return to the west cost in 2008.
